Abstract EN

The customary marriage is one of the prevalent phenomena in the Algerian society, especially in the South of Algerian cities , where the social system in these regions continues to recognize this type of marriage.

Despite its legitimacy, the fact that it is not validated and documented has become a major problem due to the negative effects on children , the spouses or even on the society as a whole, and there is no doubt that the survival and continuation of this type of marriage in the south, especially the city of Tamanghasset, despite the social change in this region, indicates the existence of driving factors led to the continuation and spread of the phenomenon of Customary marriage in these areas till today.
