English Abstract

Websites are one of the most important tools of communication nowadays.

Websites are the cornerstone that represents all companies of different competence.

The design of the website must be done by an engineering approach in order to ensure the user access to information or services easily.

The engineering methods adopted in the design and constructions of websites are still weak and the field of research that specializes in the methods of building websites is incomplete.

In this thesis the focus was on the navigation in websites and the process of evaluating websites from the navigation perspective.

Three methodological methods were adopted for the analysis of navigation in websites (investigation of previous research, interview and questionnaire).

Analytical hierarchy process (AHP) was used for set a prioritization for the navigation parameters.

The results indicate that all websites must have all the most important parameters of navigation system to achieve consistency in the navigation process.
