Abstract EN

In this article, x-Ray fluorescence (XRF) is used to understand the composition of both naturally and industrially kohl which are taken from different Egyptian markets.

It is found that the main components of the naturally samples are lead (85 - 89 %) and sulfur (9 - 13 %) while the industrial samples contain calcium 92 %, iron 83 % or zinc 96 %.

It is found that some of the natural samples contain traces of radio-active materials such as uranium, thorium and potassium.

It is also found that one of the samples contains poisonous arsenic.
