Abstract EN

The objective of the study is to construct an instrument measuring the attitude towards mathematics, among students in the third primary cycle, and to detect their psychometric properties.

The instrument consists of three dimensions (the cognitive dimension, the affective and the behavioral dimensions), each dimension includes 10 items.

The instrument was applied on a sample of 394 students, 192 male and 202 female in the wilaya of Relizane.

To confirm the validity of the instrument, the researchers used the content validity, the value of the coefficient of content validity was 0.85> 0.62 which corresponds to an acceptable value according to (Lawshe).We added also, the factorial validation using confirmatory factor analysis, The model-fit indicators were acceptable according to the indicator tests, and the validity distinction, the T-Test value was 36.55 to df 210, this value is significant at the 0.01 level.

Reliability was calculated by Kronbach's alpha coefficient, the result was 0.81.

Split-half reliability using the Guttman coefficient reached 0.77, both of these values indicate an acceptable reliability of the instrument.
