Abstract EN

It is well known that the aim of urban planning is to identify the proper distribution of public services in cities through international standards and criteria this is to support community and secure distribution of all types of services include education , health , and also civil defense.

The civil defense is one of the most important services that must be recognized and distributed on both scale gathered and scattered community, this related to the geographical knowledge of variables that already spread across the city, such as road network and its characteristics , use and density of spatial distribution.

The aim of this study was to determine the efficiency of the distribution of civil defense services at the capital Muscat this include six governorate and the thirteen geographical centers within Muscat area, the search results provide us with the details of this distribution and variables which contains the findings of the research results by analyzing the basic data using SPSS application and Arc map GIS for the representation of geographical phenomena and the relations on the base maps.

This research is considered one of the applied researches of GIS in spatial analysis for the distribution of services in order to assess the pattern of distribution relates to values and geographical variables surrounding it.
