Abstract EN

The agricultural areas in Kuwait are facing Desertification causes dramatically as they are located in the arid- and semiarid region.

The main result of desertification is decreasing the agricultural areas.

One of the most important desertification factors is the soil salinity and others.

As the phenomena of soil salinity is dynamic in its nature, it needs to be studied based on its spatial and temporal dimensions in order to predict its future development and effect on the desertification of the agriculture areas, therefore came the authors to the idea of the recent study.

This paper concentrate on the applied methodology of spatio-temporal analysis of the desertification factors in the agricultural areas that will be captured from several sources such as: field study, office and statistical research, and analysis of satellite images from different years.

This study will figure out the desertification factors in the study area and give weight to each factor related to its role in the desertification in order to finalize the real causes of desertification in Slybiya Farms in Kuwait as an example for the similar agriculture areas in the Arab Gulf Peninsula.
