Abstract EN

This paper seeks to bring into discussion an issue of critical importance, which is the call for marine assistance from Salah al-Din al-Ayoubi to the Moroccan Sultan Al-Mansur Almohad in order to join efforts to besiege crusades.

This assistance has been the focus of several studies which mainly aimed at levelling accusations against Almohad Caliph who refused to provide support to the Ayyubid.

The question to be addressed is how to better understand Al-Mansura Almohad's refusal away from levelling accusations against one party or another.

So, what circumstances were at play during the Almohad dynasty? And how can we comprehend the explanations provided by Al-Mansur Almohad?
