English Abstract

The current research aims to measure logical thinking and problem solving among students, and to measure differences in logical thinking and problem solving in students according to gender changes, specialization and status (superior and non-superior) as well as to detect the relationship between logical thinking and problem solving in students (sample) College, superior, nonsuperiors .

The research sample consisted of (500) students from the fifth grade preparatory school with its scientific and literary branches from the secondary and preparatory schools of the Baghdad Education Directorate and after applying the research tools and processing the data by appropriate statistical means showed the results: - Students have a good level of logical thinking and problem solving for the benefit of outstanding students .

- Differences in logical thinking in the research sample according to : a.

Specialization for the scientific branch b.

Sex for male sample c.

The situation in favor of the sample of outstanding students - There are no differences in the ability to solve problems in the research sample (superior and non-superior) depending on specialization, gender and status.

- There is no statistically significant relationship between the variables at the total sample and the sample of the outstanding and non-academically superior In light of these findings, the researcher made a number of recommendations and proposals .
