The error analysis for the discontinuous Galerkin finite element method of the convection-diffusion problem

Abstract EN

In this paper, we studied and analyzed of the discontinuous Galerkin nite element (DGFE) method of linear convection-di usion problem.

We have proved that the properties of the bilin- ear form a(u; v), (V ?elliptic and continuity).

Considered the error estimate in the semi-discrete DGFE method where chopping with respect to space variables only is applied, whereas time remains continuous and proved the approximate solution is converges with error of o(h).

The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical experiments of steady-state DGFE method for (SIPG, NIPG, IIPG), when the penalty parameter is suciently large and showed the e ect of penally parameter and the parameter to the numerical solutions.
