The purpose of this research is to show how Al-Farra has exploited rhetoric to confirm the great diversity of the Arabic language in both its syntax and its style.

This diversity was long invoked by Al-Farra as well as the ancient grammarians and linguists who studied and analyzed the Koranic text.

The rhetorical interpretations in "Maani al-Quran" constitute one of the cognitive inputs adopted by Al-Farra to deduce the Quranic meaning and to answer the language questions raised by the science of Tafsir (exegesis of the Qur'an)
