Perfectionism, a sense of individuality and difference, and unbalanced growth in the social, emotional, and mental spheres are important characteristics of gifted students who risk them and set goals and standards that are almost impossible or unrealistic.
However, they do, but they generate many frequency problems And uncertainty in the positions of academic choice Or professional and other, to the difference of opportunities possible, and that the problem of the current research highlights the obvious that the individual perfectionist is not satisfied, or satisfaction for the permanent rejection of what is below the order of perfection, which has a significant impact in the assessment of self-confidence, The current research aims to identify the level of perfectionism of gifted students.
It also aims to identify if there are statistically significant differences between gifted students (male and female) in the attribute of perfectionism, The importance of the current research is that self-confidence has become an important factor in the completion of the personality of gifted students, and increases the realism and logic of their thinking, and therefore the perfect perfection helps the talented student to improve his scholastic performance, and social relations, To achieve the objectives of the current research, the researcher prepared a test to measure the perfectionism of gifted students.
The sample of the final application (24) students from the gifted students in the city of Baghdad / Karkh first, (12) students, and (12) students, Were selected by the random stratified method, and after the application of the research tool, the statistical analysis of the data using statistical means (Pearson correlation coefficient, Cronbachs Alph , T- test for one sample, T- for two independent samples) The researcher reached the following results: There is perfectionism among gifted students for the whole sample..1 2.There are statistically significant differences in giftedness among gifted students according to the gender variable (male – female).
Based on these findings, the researcher presented a set of recommendations and suggestions.
