Abstract EN

The aim of the study is to identify the importance of Islamic finance towards green financing and to identify one of the ways to achieve sustainable development in the Islamic world through the creation and adoption of green instruments for sustainable green investments.

The green instruments include the ratification of the environmental certification document next to compliance with debt guarantee for Islamic law.

This ensures the financing of an environmentally sustainable infrastructure project, such as building a renewable energy facility; like clean energy projects or government transportation projects that reduce carbon emissions, and to ensure compliance with climate and Sharia which demonstrates the importance of green Islamic bonds.

The study highlights the importance of relying on the issuance of green bonds as one of the most important methods of sustainable green Islamic financing, and as an important gateway to finance renewable energy-based economies that are committed to reducing carbon emissions.

It also shows the importance of involving governments, industry and investors in developing a regulatory framework for green Sukuk.
