This article studies the training of Algerian elementary school pupils on good use of exposition criteria and punctuation.

The study seeks to present a general description of the importance given by the curriculum and the educational organisation to this aspect which helps pupils acquire a textual competence in written expression that they will be able to use to express their feelings and needs.
