Abstract EN

The research deals with the role of the funding policies for the Economic Housing projects in maintaining the organized urban structure of the city.

Poor funding and the lack of support from the relevant institutions are the major problems facing the Economic Housing, and this leads to more disorganized and random building process which eventually leads to loss of control on the urban style and the architectural texture of the city.

The research aims to explain the role of the Economic- Housing funding policies in maintaining the urban texture of Baghdad city which suffers from marked increase in the number of population (reaching nearly 8 million people) due to migration of large number of people from rural areas to settle in Baghdad to get benefit from its wide and attractive services.

This issue has led to a rise in the demand for housing and eventually the prevalence of random buildings and a trend of disorder which necessitate finding new and effective policies to provide suitable housing for low-income families and to avoid random and inappropriate housing of the city which affect the urban texture of the city
