In this paper, we have discussed the approach of the Imam, Al-Sharif Al-Tlemceni, with the intention to highlight his serious contributions into the consolidation of his innovative vision of reforming the contemporary thought system which resulted in founding an original academic approach for learning and teaching unlike those before him who clung to the strict rules and doctrinal constants.
The Imam’s novel methodology was based on discussing all the issues to be studied through the rigorous investigation of their referral sources and adherence to what best served societies and rejected the mere mimic of old schools’ tradition.
This system of thought-reform pushed forward for a new and distinctive movement of thought and intellect.
We concluded, the Imam’s approach would potentially help our societies prosper and intellectually advance.
