Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate the effect of concept mapping strategy in improving grammar skills among seventh grade male students.

The sample of the study consisted of (60) male students (two sections), were selected randomly from the seventh grade male students at King Abdullah II School for Excellence in Irbid directorate for the scholastic year (2016/2017).

One section was selected randomly to represent the experimental group that was taught according to the concept mapping strategy; while the second section was assigned as the control group that was taught the grammar skills according to the traditional method.

The results of the statistical analysis showed that there was significant difference in the post-test scores on the grammar skills of the two groups, for the benefit of the Experimental group that was taught according to concept mapping strategy.

The results of the "T" test for two independent groups revealed statistically significant differences between the means of the two groups on the two major grammar skills (the distinction between grammatical concepts, and the application of grammatical concepts in useful sentences) for the benefit of the experimental group.
