The aim of this article is to expose and highlight the role of civil society organizations in promoting the values of citizenship in Algeria within the context of the societal transformations experienced by contemporary Algerian society, which has shifted from direct charity to community development.

He concluded that the Algerian civil society has developed its concepts and methods to conform to the changes in the contents of citizenship, which have also been the result of continuous intellectual strife, as a flexible and renewed concept, as a means of achieving effectiveness in society and has multiple implications, legal, political , Social, economic, cultural, psychological and even environmental.
