This study deals with a general description of the city of tear in terms of population and buildings - which had been subjected to the domination of the French colonization since 1841 - through the writings of three French traveler who visited the city at the end of the 19th century and early 20th century, the objective of this study is to reveal the most important positive and negative changes caused by the French presence in the city after 60 years of occupation and 30 years of application of the rules of civil society? In other words, what is the truth of the message of civilization which claimed France published from which justified the occupation of Algeria
