Tourism is one of the human activities that are influenced by the surrounding environment and have an important role in the distribution of recreation and recreation sites and in determining not only the patterns and axes of the flow of tourists towards the tourist destination, but also the duration of their stay and the seasons of their visits.

Tourism, therefore, is closely linked with the environment and exposure to environmental problems that lead to the development of these activities and their deterioration.

The aim of the study is to determine the most important current global environmental problems and their impact on tourism.

Results reveal the negative consequences of environmental problems on tourism.

To validate the results of the study, Mamaia Beach, Romania, has been taken as a sample of the beaches that have faced the problem of coastal erosion, leading to the reduction of tourist capacity.
