The Constitution is a document of rights and freedoms in all constitutional and even customary legislation, including the right to enjoy one's citizenship.

It is the official document issued by the state, which signals its link to its citizens, and recognizes the identity of the holder together with his or her rights and obligations.

At the same time, it is considered a sign and a manifestation of the sovereignty of the state.

To deprive a person of his or her citizenship is legally, socially and internationally unacceptable.

It is necessary, therefore, to explain its dimensions and risks and provide ways to protect a person from falling into that condition of a stateless by expanding the legal protection that are covered by the Constitution and the Iraqi legislation.

Additionally, it is important to explain the possibility of using international protection sought out or implemented by the Iraqi constitution.

In order to strengthen the citizen's sense of belonging to his or her homeland and strengthen the bonds between them, the most telling definition of alienation is to become a stranger in one’s own homeland.
