Abstract EN

Algeria during the Ottoman era had seen a scientific movement which was based on many cultural edifices starting from Mosque, Zaouia, Kottab and to be mainly fostered by the channel of Wakf.

Which contributed with a considerable income, sparing the government from intervening many times.

Therefore, it was a subject of competition between men of science, grading up the ladder in many fields such as Fatwa, Justice and Education to the extent that the job was inherited throughout the family line.

Some families lasted for a long time such as GUEDDOURA family in the town of Algiers, which is a sample in my humble intervention, whose main goal is to spot some famous Algerian Ottoman families, who took the scientific work as a whole time job throughout many generations.

Hence, they dedicated their lives to Religion and Education and heir it to elite students, known all over the world.

They preserved the teachings of their mentors from generation to generation in a clear chain until now.
