Abstract EN

This study has performed a geographical analysis for international Turkish tourism parameter during (2016-2017) by using statistical analysis of tourists numbers based on months and nationality to compare previous and next years.

The analysis showed a decrease in tourists numbers up to ( - 24.83 %) in 2016 compared with 2015; tourism industry income has decreased into (- -22%) due to several reasons like ( terrorism, security unstable neighbour countries, political conflicts and domestic instability).

The study also has clarified a variation in tourists nationalities, the lowest record was Russians (- 76%), Germans recorded ( - 30%); there was a recovery in the tourism during 2017 as an increase of (22.85 %) was recorded making a total tourism industry income improvement of (16.5%).

Russians were on top of tourists with (444%) increase, followed by Iranians with (33.4%) increase; this increase resulted from series of procedures represented by ( improved border control in southern and south-east parts, fighting terrorism and disruption of terrorist cells, recovery of Turkish-Russian relationships, control of domestic security, and recovery in exchange rate of Turkish lira against US dollar) Turkey has rolled up 2016 which was the worst tourism year in its modern history.
