Abstract EN

The research included an overview for Attiah bin Saad Al-Owfi, and a revelation for his efforts, in Hadith and Tafseer “Exegesis”.

It was discovered that he was one of the famous followers who narrated on the authority of many prophet’s companions especially Abu Saeed Al-Khudri.

He has been weakened in narration by most scholars because of his poor memorization, and because he was accused of being a Shiite, as well as being accused of TADLEES AL-SHOYOUKH.

As for weakening because of his poor memorization, it has been interpreted by Ibn Hajar saying: “He is righteous but has many mistakes” Perhaps this is the reference of some scholars for weakening him.

As for his weakness due to Shi’ism, it was not proven that Attiah was calling for this doctrine.

He was also weakened because of (TADLEES AL-SHOYOUKH) based on Abdullah bin Ahmed narration on the authority of his father saying: “Attiah was visiting Mohammed bin Al-Saeb Al-Kalbi learning exegesis from him thus he nicknamed him Abu Saeed Al-Khudri,” as well as the words of Ibn Hibban saying: “He heard Ahadith from Abu Saeed, and when Abu Saeed died, he was visiting Al-Kalbi taking Hadith from him; then he nicknamed him Abu Saeed.

Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali said: “But al-Kalbi narration is not reliable, and if this story is true about Attiah, it requires not to adopt what Attiah narrated about Abu Saeed, especially exege “As for Ahadith narrated about Abu Saeed, Attiah attributed them to Abu Saeed As for Ibn Maeen recommendation for him, there were other narrations in which he weakened him.

Ibn Shaheen has decided in several places saying: If one imam has two different sayings, the most rightly saying is what other critics have agreed upon(1).

The recommendation of Ibn Saad for Attiah is incorrect.

Ibn Hajar said: “No one paid any attention to Ibn Saad in this, as his narratives are derived from Al-Waqidi, and Al-Waqadi is not authenticated (1)” What appears to me is that Ibn Saad words are authenticated in vouching and discrediting, but he is incorrect here as may happen to other critics.

Abu Hatim, and Ibn Uday said: “Attiah, despite his weakness in Hadith, but his Hadith can be relied on”.

This means that his Hadith can be relied on regarding evidences and supplementary and is not relied on if alone.

If he is supported by a supplementary or evidence, his Hadith may rise to the rank of al-Hasan, provided that the weakness of its ways is not severe, i.e., that the weakness of its narrators in its various ways arises from their poor memorization and not from their righteousness or religion.

Based on this, the research continued including 24 hadiths in Sunan containing 14 right Hadith with evidences and supplementary, and 11 weak and very weak Hadith
