Abstract EN
Arab syntacticians have set a set of grammatical principles based on what they found on Arab’s speech and documentations.
Consequently, there appear two types of principles, viz.
i) concrete represented by articulation and structure, and ii) conceptional represented by abstract rules not linguistically used.
The latter were ignored/discarded/dead principles.
Syntacticians ignored or abandoned these principles perhaps because they find them inappropriate compared to the type (i), or due to linguistic developments and modern assumptions.
It may also be due to dialectal influence.
However, type (ii) principles may occur in a specific use, either due to necessity or linguistic expansion.
Accordingly, the researcher sees that syntactic principles could be divided into two types based on the possibility of revision: 1) those that cannot be revised either in terms of necessity or expansion, but some of them may occur as examples of ungrammaticality, and how to avoid them, and 2) those that could be revised either for extending language use, occasional ungrammaticality, or for necessity.
