Abstract EN

This paper addresses three issues concerning the true understanding of the verse wala yazaluun mukhtalifiin illa man rahima rabbuka walithalika khalaqahum due to the disagreement among scholars in this regard: 1.

Correcting what is meant by the verse walaw shaa rabbuka laja’ala an-nasa ummatan wahidatan “and if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community”.

Clarifying the disagreement in interpreting the verse wala yazaluun mukhtalifiin illa man rahima rabbuka walithalika khalaqahum “and they are still in disagreement, except those who your Lord has mercy upon”.

3.

Clarifying the meaning of the verse walithalika khalaqahum “and for that He has created them”, and disambiguating and correlating it with wa ma khalaqtu aljinna wa alinsa illa liya’abuduun “and I have not create the Jinn and Humans, but to worship Me”.

The researcher collects the interpretations of these verses by previous scholars including the Prophet Mohammed’s companions and followers, analyzing them in accordance with all those aforementioned scholars.
