Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are comanies which have between 1 to 250 employees and which have an annual turnover not exceeding 4 billion dinar.Law number 02-17 for the development of SMEs includes 40 articles, compared with Law number 02-18, which contains 28 articles, while in the new law have been modified 22 articles and have been added 14 new articles.The purpose of this law is to define SMEs, identify support measures, and mechanisms for construction, development and sustainability.

Les petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) sont des sociétés, dont le nombre de salariés est compris entre 1et 250, et dont lechiffre d'affaires (CA) annuel ne dépasse pas les 4 milliard de dinar.
La loi N°17-02 portant loi d’orientation sur le développement de la PME comporte 40 articles, comparativement à celle de 18-02 qui compte 28 articles, sachant que 22 articles ont fait l’objet de modifications et 14 nouveaux articles ont été insérés, signale-t-on.
La présente loi a pour objet de définir la petite et moyenne entreprise dénommée ci-après ´ PME et les mesures et les mécanismes de soutien qui leurs sont réservés en termes d’Émergence, de croissance et de pérennisation.
