Abstract EN

The study aimed at reviewing the reality of water in the Arab World in the short and long term; besides exploring the potential threats of Arab water security; as well as discussing the issue of international water pricing.

The study depended on both the descriptive analytical and statistical methods.

The study main findings indicated that the rise in the Arab World population; in addition to inefficient utilization of the available water resources; and water pollution had been regarded as major threats to Arab water security.

Moreover, the privatization of a vital commodity such as water may lead to economic, social, and political damage inside the Arab communities.

The study main recommendations call for joint cooperation between Arab countries in designing a unified regional strategy in order to deal with water problems in the region.
