The role of information communication technology (ICT)‎ in the development of banking services in Libya : case study : the commercial banks in Libya

Abstract EN

The Libyan economy, like other the economies of developing countries, seeks to improve the level of the banking services sector as the main engine of economic development in the country, especially after the emergence of the knowledge economy, commercial banks are seeking to develop their services in line with the new economy.

In order to achieve the main purpose of the study, we used the descriptive-analytical method, by using the questionnaire.

Where we surveyed a total of 320 employees at six commercial banks operating in the eastern region of Libya.

Through incoming questionnaires, we were analyzed 299 questionnaire.

The results of the analysis showed a positive relationship between ICT and the development of banking services and that technology plays an active role in the development of banking services.

The study also showed a statistically significant impact of ICT on the development of banking services.

Also, the results of the study showed that there was no statistically significant mean difference in Information and Communication Technology between bank, there was no statistically significant mean difference in Development of banking services between banks.
