Abstract EN

This study aims to lighten the reality of Islamic banking in Algeria, through three main axes that study the reality of practice and application of this industry, its demand and the different obstacles faced in Algeria.

In order to realize this goal a questionnaire have been designed and intended to El Baraka Bank and ESSALEM Bank executive personal that represent the Islamic banking society in Algeria.

This study has reached to the fact that the Islamic banking in Algeria knows a limited and modest success because of the divergence between the theoretic and practical basis, and the existence of internal, external and legislative obstacles that make Algeria an inadequate environment to practice Islamic banking.
