This study aims to analyze the insurance market by studying its products and production of insurance companies active in it and its contribution in the composition of the Gross domestic product in Algeria during the period (2010 - 2018); using tables and graphs where the penetration rate index was used to determine the Extent of contribution of the insurance market in the composition of the GDP.
The study found that the slow development of the insurance market in Algeria during the period (2010-2018), was the reason that led to its low contribution in the composition of the GDP, which was measured by the penetration index.
The study concluded that the insurance market in Algeria is still among the weakest global markets
