Abstract EN

This researches aims to study the economic, social and work related challenges that affect women participation in garment industry in Jordan.

The study tries to highlight those challenges and to offer solutions that can improve the working conditions for the workers there and attract more women to work in this industry.

The research uses a random sample of (474) females were selected form (8) factories where the number of Jordanian female workers was more than 50 workers in Sahab industrial city in Jordan.

While this sector is a big sector and can support in creating a massive job opportunities, it’s still a sector that is not very attractive for Jordanian female for different reasons .On the economical side, the results showed that the main economic motive behind the work for the workers in the factories is to improve their financial situation or their family situation and this can be a hint to the difficult economic situation people are suffering form due to low employment rates.

On the social level, the results showed the most important motive for women to work is gaining self-realization and improving social status.

The value of work is important for women to support them in being self-realized and supporting in decision making.

One financial independency is of the most important factors that help in giving the female the power to participate in decision-making.
