The objective of the study was to design a model program to teach group work method to the students of the faculty of social work at princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman university in Riyadh, and to identify the skillful and educational indicators of the program and identify the difficulties of application.
the study community included faculty members at the faculty of social work, and a questionnaire was distributed to the sample members (55).
this study reached a high agreement from the faculty members on the feasibility of implementing the model program for teaching group work method for students of the faculty of social work at princess Noura Bint Abdulrahman university.
the study reached a high agreement among the faculty members on the skill indicators of the program with a weighted average of (2.75) and a weighted ratio (95,13).
the most important of these indicators are: provide students with the targeted skills of group work method - it strengthens the connection between the theoretical and practical aspects - encourages the use of critical thinking skills among students - supports collaborative learning among students in the classroom.
which enhances the effectiveness of the program in providing students with the skills required to teach the method of group work.
there is also a high agreement among the sample on the educational indicators of the program in the weighted average (2.85) and weighted ratio(95.52).
the most important of these indicators: the flexibility of the model makes it adjustable and development - breaks the boredom and lack of focus in the lecture - achieves the objectives of teaching group work method - allows the teacher interaction and observation of students - supports the involvement of students in the learning process.
which supports the effectiveness of the program in achieving the educational goals to teach group work to students of the faculty of social work..
the study concluded that there was a high agreement among the respondents about the difficulties of applying the program at a weighted average(2.79) and a weighted ratio (93,38).
the most important of these is the short duration of the semester in which the model is applied, insufficient lecture time to connect the theoretical and practical aspects - paralysis is collected in the classroom .
the study recommended starting the experimental application of the program in teaching group work method to the students of the faculty of social work and evaluating the research experience to determine the effectiveness of the program.
