Abstract EN

Arabic is a total system consisting of subsystems, such as sounds, syllables, stress, intonation, morphological constructions, syntax analysis, antithesis, conjunctions, articles, word order, collocation, etc.

The principles of Arabic are Kubrā (major), Kullīyah (general) and Sughrā (minor).

Al-Kubrā (major): basic, indispensable phenomena in the language system which include four major rules, namely: avoiding ambiguity, seeking lightness, justness, and constancy in speech.

Al-Kullīyah (general): common phenomena in the system of language and concise wholes that control minor principles and are controlled by the major principles.

Al-Sughrā (minor): principles and particulars behind the first pedagogical causes.

It has been stated that the basic foundations of Arabic syntax are samāʿ(hearing), qiyas (analogy), ijma`a (consensus) and Istishab (continuity).

However, the sub-issues of each section are guided and regulated by a set of general principles.

A careful examination of these foundations reveals that all of them are based on and guided by four major principles.

The main focus of this research is to explain these four principles and prove my argument.
