Abstract EN

Contemporary poetry has certain artistic characteristics that made it different from previous poetry.

Yet, it has its own originality as it borrowed some technical features from other rhetorical patterns, and used them in the movement of renewal.

Some poetic experiments the modern era include a narrative structure such as events, characters, time, place etc in an attempt to expand the scope and semantics of the text, preserving at the same time the artistic characteristics of Arabic poetry such as rhythm, figures of speech, music, imagery and structure.

Ahmad Muharram is one of the modern poets who wrote narrative poetry.

The main aim of this paper, entitle "Narration in Ahmad Muharram's Social Poetry," is to examine narrative elements in his poetry in light of what he wrote as social poetry which involves the use of more than one narrative technique.

Thus Muharram's social poetry is examined to reveal the narrative structure and its effect on the aesthetics of the poem.

The paper attempts to evaluate the narrative structure and determine whether it is in favor of the subject or not, using an analytical approach to study poetry.

The paper is divided into: Introduction: It provides a glimpse of the life of the poet the concepts of narration and poetry and their interplay in Arab criticism.

Characters, Section III.

Place, Section IV.

Time, Section V.

Language and style,Conclusion: It presents the most important findings of the paper.
