Conceptual Blending is a theory of cognition based on the theory of mental spaces.

It is based on the linguistic characteristic that each situation, realistic or imaginary, has a way to use a linguistic structure that expresses it and our perception in general.

This characteristic is known for its comprehensiveness as manifested in conceptual blending.

It enables human beings to construct meaning in a form of conceptual blending in which they generate new meanings and new concepts.

The basis of Blending Theory is the mental space created by the speaker during speech or thinking of perceptions or imaginations, and all past and present situations, and even the future.

Hence, Conceptual Blending results in concepts and images that turn into things rooted in the conceptual structure of humans, reflected in the language system used, as will be examined in this study.

From the system to the regularity, from form to formlessness, from reasonable to inconceivable, from clear to the vague, from integration to difference, and from the separation of poetry and prose to their blending in the pursuit of intersection and openness.

Thus, Adonis set up his concept of the new poetry on these characteristics.

The poetic text is opened on many cognitive fields, announcing a revolution in concepts, breaking the rigid rules and abandoning all traditions, to break the silence in words and use language system to store experiences.

It makes use of mythology and mysterious symbols whose meanings fade throughout the text, so the reader becomes prisoner of words, searching for the path to reach the meaning.

This makes the new poetry incomparable.
