Abstract EN

This study aims at investigating the comprehensive quality standards of text book at basic level in Sudan.

The researcher observed that the problem of the weakness of the textbook at basic level has come from the lack of good quality.

The researcher selected the technical education textbook for grade (7) at basic level in order to be investigated.

The sample of the study was consisted of 46 basic schools ’ teachers of technical education subject, who teach at North Omdurman Locality.

The participants of the study were selected intentionally as a target group.

The researcher used descriptive analytical method in her study.

A questionnaire was used to collect informationfrom the participants, and it consists of 61 items divided into four parts.

The data analysis of the study showed that, the objectives of the technical education textbook for grade (7) at basic level correspond or match with the general educational aims and the aims of basic level.

These objectives are clear, applicable and can be developed technically and technologically.

In addition the content of the textbook can achieve the target objectives and it is based on the curriculum design criteria.

Furthermore, the textbook contains pictures and diagrams that are related to the content of the course which will help a lot in the process of learning, and achieve the cognitive and emotional aims.

Moreover, the assessment process included in the textbook for grade (7) is perfect due to the achievement of comprehensive quality standards in terms of publication and production.

Based on these findings, the researcher recommended that, science textbooks should be provided with modem technical skills so as to help the students benefit from them in their daily life, train teachers and design abstract programs which will cover the practical parts in the textbook.
