The purpose of this study is to identify agricultural insurance as a technology for agricultural risk management, and the possible solutions to its development and its reality on the Algerian market, the agricultural sector like other sectors, its risks are diverse and varied, and guarantees provided by insurance institutions in the field of agricultural insurance are those that keep the incomes of poor farmers in most productive unit, and restore what nature has spoiled on both farms and animals, however, despite all the support provided by insurance institutions to the agricultural sector, it still suffers from a lack of demand of this type in the Algerian insurance market, we find that the most important solutions that can be applied to develop an agricultural insurance market are state support.
