The current research aims to identify the dimensions of anxiety sports competition (anxiety cognitive - anxiety , physical - self-confidence ) , recognize achievement motivation Sports ( defended accomplish success - motive to avoid failure ) , to identify the nature of the correlation between the dimensions of anxiety sports competition and achievement motivation athlete has basketball players of Yemen , use the descriptive survey manner so as to suitability of the nature of the search, the sample was selected from the deliberate way my game is not basketball over 18 years and the 47 player , in the light of the outcome of the search results the researchers conclude the following: 1 - There is a correlation statistically significant at 0.05 level counterproductive - negative - between the dimensions of success and achievement motivation motive to avoid failure and after cognitive anxiety .
