Abstract EN

This paper presents an archaeological and architectural study for one of the immovable physical heritage in Yemeni Dhamar city, which is well known as Hessn El-kabreet (Allesy) and was erected by the order of Mohammed Basha in (1026H-1616 Ad) in the late period of the first ottomani era in Yemen.

This paper interests either to follow the political and military role of the fortress, then focusing on the detailed archeological description for all its elements in order to clear the architectural components ( enclosure wall, the gale, the Towers .soldiers barracks .and cistern ) for documentation purposes before fully disappearing .Beside a comparison study between Hessn El-kabreet architectural units and others Yemeni fortresses, aiming to determine the defensive strategy used in the construction process of that fortresses, which showing die military thought during the eleventh century ( A.H) in Yemen.
