Abstract EN

Equality is a mechanism for creating conditions for equal development between the sexes.

The demand for parity first appeared in France in 1990, through the demands of feminist movements to approve political parity, followed by 9 years after the adoption of parity through two laws of 1999 and 2000, where the type with parity became the sure and persistent element of political awareness [2].

Equity [3], presented as the recognition of socially constructed inequality, forms the basis of policies to combat discrimination between men and women.

Equality can be defined as equal representation of women and men - at the quantitative level - in all areas and in access to decision-making bodies in the public, professional and political sector.

The reason for its existence is evident in the necessity of resorting to binding legal, organizational and institutional measures to confront this discrimination.

Preferential / positive and voluntary measures are those aimed at correcting the effects of discrimination that has occurred in the past and / or the present and for which a woman is the presumed victim.

In other words, it can be said that parity is a mechanism for the effective implementation of formal equality, without which it will remain abstract.
