The study dealt with (the critical Sense of Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf in appreciating Arabic poetry), it shows his life and upbringing, his poetics, his narrating and citing of poetry, his admiration and criticizing of the different genres of poetry, the study objective was to present Al-Hajjaj as a discreet critic who has high status as a critic that is not less than his political status, The study reached to several results such as: that he was the first one to use new critical terms to describe spontaneous poets and the unspontaneous ones , and that he used the sincerity as a preferential criterion for assessing poets, The study used the descriptive analytical method.
