Abstract The Conflict of the interests of elites in democratic societies is one of the most important issues raised at the internal and external levels of the state, because it is linked to the nature of the political system on the one hand and competing elites among themselves to achieve personal interests at the expense of public interests on the other.

The United States of America (U.S) is one of the countries that is a model of elites and elite democracy because of its political system.

So, the elites in the U.S are trying to portray themselves as defending public interests, and they are the ideal model in the world, by spreading democracy and talking about human rights.

This study focused on the nature of the competition between the American elites and its impact on the disparity within the American society through two sections: First, democratic development of the American elites.

Second, American elites between interests and democracy.

The study concluded that the U.S elites are working to establish a standard for the great powers and to formulate an internal and external environment, according to their strategic interests.
