This study focused on the topic of Saudi youth’s uses of social media through an applied field research among students of Hail University, using the theory of uses and gratification.

It sought to identify the needs that they aim to meet from behind these uses, in addition to exploring their positions on these networks and their perceptions regarding their negative effects and ways to reduce them.
