The Arabic letters vary in two types, consonants and vowels, Some Contemporary Researchers thought that the ancient Arabic Did not put a boundary between the two classes, and some of them went further than this, denies that the ancient Arab heritage contains serious studies of vowels, while others see this reversal.

To clarify this, we ask the follow question, what is the movement? What is its function in the Arabic language? To answer this problem leads us to talk about Arab vowels, the relationship between vowels and letters, and some functions performed by both sounds and their equivalents of letters.
