This study deals with the process of employing the legendary Greek heritage in our contemporary Arabic literature, using the legend of Oedipus in the play "King Oedipus" by the Egyptian writer, novelist and playwright, Tawfiq al-Hakim, as a model, in which we explain, discuss and analyze the forms, mechanisms and techniques used in that play , On the one hand, and on the other, an attempt to assess the process in terms of pros and cons, and reflect on the literary scene Arab creativity.
