Abstract EN

In This paper we will examine the methodology known as Communicative Language Teaching or CLT, and we will explore the main assumptions it is based on; Its referential sources and historical origins since it was first proposed in the 1970s, and what are their great influenced factors in today's language teaching; from the theoretical approach to the practical work in classrooms and other language studying areas.

We understand CLT as a set of principles that guide the language course designer and the teacher in their work, those principles covered the main factors of language teaching-learning; the practical goals, the description of learner processes in learning a new language, the kinds of classroom activities that best facilitate learning, and the roles of both teachers and learners in the classroom.
