Since independence, Algeria has witnessed profound changes in the agricultural credit system and in the lending policy resulting from successive reforms over the years in the search for the best for the development of the agricultural sector.

This study aims to shed light on the mechanisms and forms taken by the lending policies through economic reforms and their impact on the development of the agricultural sector in Algeria.

The study reached some results, such as the obstacles and difficulties experienced by the farmer regarding the optimal utilization of loans and subsidies, including the arbitrary requirements in the guarantees required to grant loans to farmers, and the bureaucracy in obtaining a loan or subsidy.
