Abstract EN

This study aims to know the reality of the strategic planning of human resources (SPHRs) in the public sector in Jordan concerning the readiness of ministries for strategic planning of human resources and the degree of participating this planning and the difficulties that hinder this process.

A questionnaire was distributed to the participants.

The research revealed the followings: • The degree of readiness for strategic planning of human resources (SPHRs) in Jordanian ministries was medium.

• The degree of practicing SPHRs in Jordanian ministries was high.

• The major difficulties and challenges facing SHRP were as follows: The scarcity of expert and qualified personnel in SPHRs in Jordanian ministries, insufficiency of financial resources needed for SPHRs, insufficiency of cooperation and coordination between human resource departments and other units.

• There is a significant positive relationship between the degree of readiness of SPHRs and the degree of practicing these strategies.
