Abstract EN

The study aimed at investigating the degree to which science teachers in the basic education stage practice action research skills from their point of view.

And the researchers used the descriptive approach to achieve the research objectives.

The sample of the study consisted of (58) male and female science teachers in public schools affiliated to the Marka Directorate of Education in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

To achieve the objective of the study, a questionnaire consisting of (36) items was constructed; the items were divided into five skills: problem identification, hypothesis formulation, data collection, data analysis, and conclusions.

The results of the study showed that the degree to which science teachers practice action research skills was medium.

Also, the results showed that the degree of the study sample’s practice for action research skills does not vary according to the teacher’s gender but varies according to the academic qualification in favor of bachelor's and postgraduate degrees.

In light of these results, the study suggested a set of recommendations.
