This research deals with psychological disorders and their effect on judgments, as the old Islamic Jurists did not know these diseases with their different branches that exist today, and did not make a final decision of them.

The Islamic jurists mentioned the defects that lead to the annulment of marriage, which focus on what prevents the purpose of marriage which is the sexual intercourse” as the majority of Islamic jurists say.

It is known that "the acute mental disorders (neurological disorders) such as schizophrenia, mania and depression of the advanced type” may alienate the husband or the wife, and sometimes prevent the purpose of marriage, which are the sexual intercourse, and the offspring.
